CORRECTED FOR DETOUR

Round Lake Boulevard bridge repairs slated to begin this weekend in Coon Rapids

ROSEVILLE, Minn. —As repairs begin this weekend on the southbound Round Lake Boulevard bridge in Coon Rapids, the Minnesota Department of Transportation will close both directions of Highway 10 and Round Lake Boulevard, starting at 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 12. During the closure, motorists should use alternate routes or follow the signed detours:

  • Highway 10 traffic will detour up and down the ramps at Round Lake Blvd.;
  • Southbound Round Lake Blvd. traffic will detour on Northdale Blvd.; and
  • Northbound Round Lake Blvd. motorists will be routed to Main Street.

All closures are expected to be complete by 5 a.m. Monday, Sept. 15.

The outside facia girder on the west side of the southbound Round Lake Blvd. bridge spanning Highway 10 was damaged in mid-April when a construction vehicle with an over-height box struck the bridge while entering the eastbound highway from southbound Round Lake Blvd. Construction crews will replace the damaged girder and repour a section of the bridge deck above the new beam. Motorists should expect additional closures on the southbound bridge through the next few weeks.

All construction activities and traffic impacts are weather dependent and subject to change. MnDOT urges motorists to always be attentive, drive with caution and slow down in work zones where workers are present.
